At Chinquapin Preparatory School, Juniors and Seniors participate in a two year seminar capstone. The Junior Seminar focuses on academic research skills including 21st century library skills, contacting professors, and knowing the necessary conventions for writing research papers in various disciplines. Students pick their own topics based on their individual interests. After learning about their topic in depth, students identify a related problem to solve and spend their Senior Seminar year carrying out an independent project designed to serve their community. Some projects raise awareness, others seek to make practical change, and others express the students' knowledge through art or music.
